If you customize a weapon it is CHANGED TO MAKE IT ESPECIALLY FOR YOU. In this way, how could you rechange it to make it for...anyone. This would be a pretty bad idea in the game since lots of item values would go down. I know lots of people who have "godly" rare-skinned weapons (Think:Crystalline, Dwarven, Mursaat) Customized. If they were able to uncustomize them and sell them, that would just add more perfect items to the market, lowering the value.

I would like to see the customization of an item removed when the *character it is customized to* is deleted.
I don't know if it works that way now, or if you could just make a new character with that name, but I think that that is a solid solution. Otherwise, the weapon just becomes useless, and not doing anyone any good. And if you're will to delete the character it was customized for...well, you should be allowed to use their loot again

I like the degradation thing, apart from that though it sound economically fair.
Of course make the 'it's been uncustomized once' thing viewable, don't want people selling reused things 3 times and you think it's new. Makes completely uncustomized things still they're still great however not *perfect* as everyone wants their things.
btw, customization can be undone, look at cars for example, you can uncustimize it pretty easily and odds are some random people could use that customization anyway. There is no way that your character is completely unique in how they like their items realistically. Assign a random number to every character between 1 and 10, when they customize it, it's +20% for that number and -10% for every other number, still makes it resellable.
I'm pretty sure the master weaponsmiths at Droknar's Forge (or they could make the uncustomized later than that) would be able to undo customization done by the guy in LA who is level 10 and just out of smithing school so to speak.
edit: deleting does not uncustomize, nor does making a character with the same name later, tried it back at level 8.

Alright, I think that the deleted character should be the only way to uncostimize things then, and that it should be changed to be so. I mean, deleting a character, in my eyes, is like making it so they never existed. Or, if they won't uncostimize it, change the little script to say "In Loving Memory of XXXXX"

/not signed. I wish there was a way to uncustomize my jeans from highschool (to account for the Freshman Fifteen, the Marraige Fifty and the Old Age Sixty), but I can't do it in real life...so I don't know why "customized" should have a different meaning in the game.
